The Awami National Party (ANP) has rejected the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial budget for fiscal year 2026-27, calling it a “jugglery of words.” Provincial President Mian Iftikhar Hussain criticized the PTI-led government for presenting a misleading financial plan after more than a decade in power.

Hussain highlighted that while 4.5 million children in the province are out of school, only Rs5 billion was allocated for education, whereas road infrastructure received three times that amount. He also questioned an allocation of Rs52.8 billion for non-existent local governments.
