National Assembly budget session underway

During the ongoing budget session, the National Assembly has approved demands for grants worth trillions of rupees for various ministries and divisions for the fiscal year 2026-27. The session, presided over by Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, saw the formal approval of funds for key sectors.

Among the major approvals, the assembly sanctioned over Rs 3.067 trillion for defence and defence production. Other significant grants included over Rs 125 billion for the Communications Division, Rs 121.26 billion for Federal Education and Professional Training, Rs 111.13 billion for Railways, and over Rs 107 billion for Water Resources. Grants for numerous other divisions, including Interior, Foreign Affairs, and Information Technology, were also passed.
