Finance Minister meets opposition delegation on PM’s instructions

Following a high-level meeting with a government delegation, PTI leader Asad Qaiser announced that his party is “ready for a Charter of Democracy.” The talks, held with a team led by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, focused on the budget, the NFC award, and the proposed imposition of taxes in the merged districts (former FATA).

Government representative Rana Sanaullah later revealed that a formal offer for political negotiations was made to PTI, which gave a “positive response.” The Finance Minister also assured the opposition delegation that he would raise their concerns about taxes in the merged districts with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
