Punjab police and Crime Control Department (CCD) officials have publicly admitted ‘criminal negligence’ in the fatal shooting of nine-year-old Hania in Chakwal, vowing the incident will not be defended or covered up. In a press conference, Punjab Inspector General of Police Abdul Karim and CCD Additional Inspector General Sohail Zafar Chattha attributed the tragedy to the involved official’s lack of training and failure to correctly assess the situation, describing it as a ‘huge blunder’.
