Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi on Saturday rejected claims by Lebanese President Joseph Aoun that Tehran was using Lebanon as a bargaining chip in negotiations with the United States.
In a social media post, Araqchi stated, “Had Lebanon been bargaining chip for Iran, we’d have a deal long ago.” He advised the Lebanese president to “Save Lebanon from your real foe.” Aoun had said on Friday that the Lebanese people were paying the price for Iran’s interests.
