LAHORE – An earthquake of 4.9 magnitude struck Lahore and several adjoining cities in Punjab on Friday night, causing mild to moderate tremors that prompted many residents to briefly evacuate their homes and other buildings as a precaution.

According to the Seismological Centre, the earthquake occurred at approximately 9:36 PM. Its epicenter was located in the border region of Indian-administered Kashmir at a depth of 18 kilometers.

While the shaking was widely felt across multiple urban centres and caused brief alarm, there were no immediate reports of casualties or significant structural damage.

Emergency response teams and disaster management authorities were mobilized to assess the situation in the affected areas. Officials have advised the public to remain calm while awaiting any further updates.
