Four Militants Killed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Security Operations

RAWALPINDI – Security forces killed four militants in two separate intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the night of June 3-4, the military’s media affairs wing announced.

In the first operation in the Dera Ismail Khan district, security forces acted on confirmed intelligence regarding the presence of militants. Troops effectively targeted a hideout, leading to a heavy exchange of fire in which two militants were killed.

A second operation was conducted in the Mohmand district, also based on intelligence inputs. During the ensuing firefight, two more militants were neutralized. Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the slain individuals at both locations.

Officials stated that the militants were involved in multiple terrorist activities in the region. Following the encounters, security forces launched clearance and sanitisation operations to eliminate any remaining threats in the surrounding areas. The military reiterated its resolve to continue counter-terrorism operations until the menace of foreign-sponsored terrorism is completely eradicated from the country.

The four militants killed in recent intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were members of the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), the military’s media wing announced. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) referred to the deceased as belonging to ‘Fitna Al Khawarij,’ a term used by the state to designate TTP members.

The operations, conducted in Dera Ismail Khan and Mohmand districts, are part of the ‘Azm-e-Istehkam’ initiative approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan. The ISPR confirmed that sanitisation operations are now underway in the areas to eliminate any other threats, vowing to continue the campaign to eradicate foreign-sponsored terrorism.
