CM Maryam Nawaz Honours Parents’ Sacrifices on Global Day
LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Monday paid tribute to the unparalleled sacrifices of parents in the upbringing and character building of their children in a special message on the Global Day of Parents.
The chief minister extended heartfelt salutations to all parents, acknowledging their love and invaluable role in shaping the lives of their children. She said the day is observed worldwide to raise awareness about the respect, rights, and responsibilities associated with parenthood.
“Parents are the greatest blessing in the world. Their love, prayers and guidance are the most precious assets for children,” she stated, adding that every success she had achieved in life was due to her parents. She noted that her mother and father, Nawaz Sharif, had always encouraged her to serve the poor and underprivileged.
The chief minister remarked that her father had been her strongest source of encouragement and support when she assumed office. She reiterated that parents play a vital role in nurturing future generations and deserve the highest respect and appreciation from society.
